What is the benefit of aquatic physical therapy?
Lymphedema Management
Our certified lymphedema specialist can help you manage the swelling caused by lymphedema. Lymphedema occurs when there’s an obstruction of the flow in the lymphatic vessels, resulting in swelling in multiple areas such as arms, legs, neck, head and abdominal region.
It’s best to be aware of potential signs so appropriate action can begin if necessary. Early detection makes treatment more effective.
How do I know if it’s Lymphedema?
Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is that tingling sensation or numbness you feel in your hands or feet. This sensation can be caused by diabetes, poor blood flow, injuries, or medication.
Aquacare’s expert physical therapy team in Berlin, Maryland, can help treat peripheral neuropathy using Rebuilder electrical stimulation. This treatment uses biofeedback and electrical stimulation to encourage increased blood flow, which can lessen or even eliminate numbness.
Rebuilder is used for:
- Chronic pain
- Post surgical pain
- Increase bloodflow
- Muscle re-education
- Maintaining or improving range of motion
